Report: FSB seizes documents at Moscow office of ALROSA

MOSCOW, Apr 6 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Investigative Committee are seizing documents at the Moscow office of uncut diamond mining giant ALROSA, news agencies reported on Thursday.

“FSB officers are seizing documents together with representatives of the Investigative Committee,” RBC quoted a source as saying without disclosing the reason.

Shares of the company have eased 0.69% to 91.5 rubles by 14.10 Moscow time after falling to 90.5 rubles.

Andrei Ryabinnikov, press secretary of ALROSA, was unable to confirm or deny the information.

Newswire Life reported that actions of investigators are connected to activities of previous managers of the company.

On March 14, the supervisory board of ALROSA appointed Sergei Ivanov, a Sberbank senior vice president and a son of presidential envoy Sergei Ivanov, as the president of the company for three years. Ivanov replaced Andrei Zharkov, who signed a letter of resignation in late February.

Media reported that Zharkov disagreed with the government on the ways to develop the company and cuts of capital expenditures, investment, and salaries in 2017.
